Objects of Power 2023
Exploring value, archetypal symbols, the amulet and the metaphysical in a storytelling sand-pit game with ceramic objects
The obiects that surround us are often filled with various interpretations, meaning and value depending on our knowledge and experience with them. This game is a light introduction to contextualise these objects in a symbolic environment, to help give a different perspective on how we perceive these objects. Participants are asked to take part in a storytelling game—similar to the surrealist exercise “exquisite corpse”—each time an object is uncovered from the sand, the storyteller must add said object into the storyline. Using both archetypal symbols and humorous contemporary everyday objects, the game sits in a place of liminality.
